As you might know, I’m going to be a published author come February 2011. I’m very excited for it, obviously. I have to give a shout out to my younger brother, Michael, because without him finding my book and going through all of the hoops with me, I wouldn’t be a published author in February. My book would still be languishing on a floppy disk (no one remembers those, I know) sitting on a shelf in my bedroom back home.
I started writing stories when I was in elementary school, and the book that is currently going to be published was written while I was in junior high. Obviously it’s been through a few edits since then, but the storyline has stayed the same. It’s currently aimed at young adults, since the main character is 15 years old, but I plan for the books to grow a bit as I continue on with the planned trilogy.
I’m currently working on another novel I finished a long time ago, though this one I wrote in high school. I’m in the editing stages right now before I send it to the publishing company to consider, and while I’m doing this, I’m also researching my thesis, finishing up graduate school classes and trying to plan a wedding. (I hope to have a Master of Science Degree in Journalism in May 2011 and I will be married in June.) My only regret with all of these things that I must accomplish is the fact that I haven’t really been able to sit down and read a good book for a while.
You’ll hear from me again soon, I’m sure.
